Advertising has emerged as one of profitable businesses in past few years. Most of companies and businesses have adopted different types of advertising platforms for boosting sales of their products and services. If a person wishes to become an entrepreneur, advertising is certainly one of best professions or opportunities available. With businesses giving more emphasis on advertising for reaching target audience, scope of advertising is likely to become vaster.

Before starting an advertising agency, a person must understand that he would be taking control of not only the brand image of client but also would be associated aggressively for developing the advertising strategy for sales promotion. Thus, a person must be equipped with all the tools necessary for a particular type of advertising.

He must be ready to take instant decisions and dedicate himself fully in the field. For starting the agency, in the first place, necessary license from regulatory bodies have to be obtained. Similarly, all information regarding relevant legal formalities has to be gathered. Initially, a person can start advertising business from home as a freelancer.

However, if he wishes to start it at corporate level, it is must that office is located at a convenient and strategic place so that necessary exposure is provided. It is very necessary for a person to specialize in a particular type or types of advertising. For example, a person can adopt print or video advertising or both.

Target audience must be given first preference and then, cost effective ways should be adopted. For example, it has to be decided if print advertising is to be done through newspapers or through hoardings or banners located at specific places. Latter is costlier and require big clients whereas for newspaper advertising, many small and medium sized businesses would be available.

If advertising is to be started at large levels, it is necessary that required personnel are hired. Total numbers of people associated may go up to three or four then. Annual budget has to be made for allotting funds for different types of operations.
