People who work part time are highly unlikely to enjoy the perks and benefits extended to full time employees. They will not be offered pension plans and options, and get only the salary that has been negotiated.

While talking of promotions, it is very rare that an employee who is working part time is even considered. The fact that they are not present physically as much as the regular employees are makes them more difficult to recall. Since they are not seen around as much, they are left out, unless they have made very significant contributions and have stood out.
