Organization’s dedication towards Human Resource wellbeing

Now days every organization’s focus has shifted to their human resource well being and no matter what size, small or big, every company is longing to have their own HR department in order to protect the right of the employees. To create better working environment and transparency at work place.

While my participation in an International Conference for Multinational companies I met a General Manger- Human Resource department of a well know MNC and she discussed some of the crucial tools, which, if followed by any company results in employee’s work satisfaction and their dedication towards work for longer years. Just listing down some of them below.

Camaraderie: An  organization must provides opportunities to employees to socialize at least once a month, this way one department interacts with another on casual basis and this is base to strengthen inter-relationship and harmony at work place.

Collegial Work Environment: Organization must motivate the team-oriented and collaborative work environment.

Ethics/Integrity: The organization’s commitment to corporate ethics and integrity has further impact on cultivating work ethics in employees as well. As wise meets the wise.

Empowerment: The level of involvement employees have in decisions making. This way employees gain confidence and this reflects in their work. If an organization always controls them like horse, they would never be able to have creative sense and ability to handle even day to day job by themselves.

Health and Retirement Benefits: The comprehensiveness of the organization’s health and retirement benefits.

Job-Interests Alignment: The job responsibilities should be assigned as per the employee’s educational background and competence than only it would be interesting.

Work-Life Balance: The extent to which the organization encourages to maintain the work-life balance. Organization should provide significantly more paid holiday/vacation. Break from work is always fruitful in recovering the great energy level.

Technology Level: This is one very crucial aspect, the extent to which the organization invests in modern technology and equipment.

Development Opportunity: Organization dedication towards the developmental opportunities provided by the job has very important role, as this not only define the employee’s present but secure the future as well.

Recognition: The amount of recognition provided to employees by the organization.

Meritocracy: Whether or not employees are promoted based on their achievements.

Compensation: The competitiveness of the job’s financial compensation package.

Respect: The degree of respect that the organization shows towards employees.

Innovative Work: The opportunity provided by the job to work on innovative, ‘leading edge’ projects.

Location: The desirability of job locations offered by the organization.

If all organizations follow above basic tools for human recourse reforms than undoubtly increase the productivity and finally profitability.
