Further, in the absence of adequate monetary and reward systems, employees feel dissatisfied and look for job opportunities outside the organization.

Non Recognition of Performance

Employees are expected to contribute to the best of their abilities in the success of the organization. They are assigned different roles and responsibilities from time to time in accordance with their work experience and qualifications.

While assigning challenging tasks may improve decision making and initiative taking abilities of an employee, it is quite possible that his/her contribution in the achievement of such tasks is completely ignored by the management of the company. This may result in a negative influence on an employee’s mind and may force him/her to leave the organization.

Delay in Promotion And Salary Hike

One of the most important reasons that forces an employee to leave his/her present organization is a delay in promotion. Further, continuous delay in salary hike can also force an employee to give resignation.

Employees work hard in order to make maximum contribution towards the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. In return to their contributions and efforts, employees expect additional incentives in the form of upward movement in the organizational hierarchy as well as enhancement in compensation packages.

While an employee may continue to work in the best interest of the organization for a certain period of time, it may become difficult for an employee to control his/her frustration level which may ultimately result in a negative decision on the part of the employee.

Favoritism

It is often seen that some superiors have a tendency to favor some specific employees irrespective of the quality of their work and contribution to the achievement of team objectives.

This favoritism may impact the satisfaction level of hard working employees. It is also possible that a superior may not resolve issues and grievances of certain employees intentionally. All these factors can create conflicts within the team and result in an unhealthy work environment.

Personal Issues

It is quite possible that an employee may decide to resign on account of some personal issues such as health or family related issues. For Instance, it may be possible that an employee is living with his/her parents and may be forced to resign as a result of his/her father’s transferable job.

Such issues are outside the control of an employee and hence it becomes difficult for a company to offer a possible solution in order to retain a talented employee.

Better Job Opportunity

Employees may find better job opportunities outside the organization. New company may offer better work profile, higher designation, higher compensation package and incentives.

For Instance, an employee may be working as a finance executive with a small company.He/She may be offered a position of financial analyst with a leading multinational company.

While this individual may have received a hike of only 20% on his/her current compensation package, he/she may decide to switch the company on account of improved work profile and strong market reputation of the new company.
