Websites play a very huge role as they directly show the work of a graphic designer. If you lack knowledge in building a website, hire a freelance programmer to build a quality website according to what you need to exhibit.

PDF always come handy with its ease to attach and mail. Moreover it helps to sketch down the design as it is.

Classic Portfolios though not much preferred do come handy at times. So it is better to have a written down portfolio of a book format.

It is better to accord with a visiting card rather a mail-id as the client may lose or wipe off the address easily and later find searching for it. As a Graphic designer you got to be the jack of all trades. Never let a client go back saying that you do not provide a service. You should be able to consummate all his requirements say for example a client may request a 3d design, a video graphical Vfx, you should have them all. Make the client feel that you are the right ticket and he comes back for you for his entire future project.
