Constructive Anger Management
Are you one of those persons who begin to well up with anger for every small little issue? Or do you generally get angry at subordinates and scream when things are not done the way you want them to be done?
Always remember anger is a poisonous weapon…it is a toxin that actually does more damage than good both to yourself and to others. You need to understand that being angry or not is yours to choose. You can always choose to keep your calm and remember getting angry is a wrong choice that you make.
Every time you feel anger welling up, pause, take a deep breath and assume the other person is right. It is only when you are calm you can see things in the right perspective.
One must be aware that if you do not recognize anger there are several ways it may show itself. Gossip, compulsions, passive aggressive behavior, perfectionism and many more are actually all fuelled by anger. You must always make sure that relationship balancing is something you do on a regular basis.
There should be a good rapport between employees as well as employees and subordinates. Angry feelings often end up with poor performance and resentment towards work. So your goal to remain calm and professional should be combined with the goal of envisioning peaceful environment in the workplace.bu
Try to rate yourself on several factors based on the way you react with people. You could have statements like you feel at ease or communicate naturally, or can get work done easily etc. When you rate, you will be able to understand your relationships with different people and manage anger more effectively.
It is important to stop blaming others. Always see the situation from the eyes of your opponent and you will find that the anger slowly dies down. Always let go of resentment that you may have for others. Always see the positive side and try to focus on that. Everyone has their good qualities.
Always try to be realistic and try to appreciate the help the other person is rendering to you. The more positive you become the better your relationships and anger management will be.
