If a business has to grow it has to constantly evolve.This is required to compete with others and attain a leading position. Business coaching is a concept that precisely aims at this. Such coaching aims to improve profits and productivity through changing organizational behavior.

Business coaching intends to bring positive changes in the business. The business coach reiterates the basic business ideas and combines it with practical methods that can help accomplish the business objectives. The coaching is aimed at improving communication skills and methods.

This coaching is based on the premise that human beings could adapt to new learning and are capable of changing their beliefs and methods when they are exposed to new knowledge. This helps employees to perform better and enhances their skills.

After undertaking the coaching programme an employee will be able to better understand the organization and also its employees which in turn will help him/her to improve the quality of his/her work.

Employees participating in a business-coaching programme learn to develop their thinking and analytical skills and improve their decision making and problem solving abilities.

Selecting the right business coach who knows the right methods and applications that will work is most important. He / She have to understand human behavior well and be effective to achieve the coaching objectives.

Business coaching helps employees to improve productivity, reduce work related stress and maintain good interpersonal relations with peers and reduce conflicts.  It helps in improving the performance of employees both collectively and individually.

Certain guidelines need to be followed if the coaching has to be successful, these include:

• Participants have to give their full attention and concentration during the programme
• Assessment of the emotional and cognitive development of the trainees is necessary  prior to coaching to work out an effective coaching system
• The coaching has to provide customized training to individuals based on their requirements
It should develop individual skills and strengths
• It should provide motivation to employees by recognizing their skills and giving them positive reinforcement in order to encourage them to work harder
• It should help them face unanticipated problems and teach them how to solve them and move ahead
